The next June, a resolution by CT state Senator Waters that proposed June 14 as Flag Day and September 17 as Constitution Day passed unanimously.

Flag Day was celebrated in various communities for years after Wilson's proclamation, but it was not until August 3, 1949, that President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14 of each year as National Flag Day. It took a few years, but President Woodrow Wilson eventually proclaimed June 14 as Flag Day in 1916, and in 1949 President Harry Truman signed into law the Act of Congress designating June 14 of each year as National Flag Day. FMAA is committed to educating consumers, the press and flag retailers about the United States-manufactured flag industry and its significance to community, economic and social development.

"The American flag represents all of us and all the values we hold sacred".

Valley Forge America is also a founding member of the Flag Manufacturers Association of America (FMAA). It is a universally recognized symbol that stands for liberty, and freedom.

On National Flag Day, Americans show respect for the U.S. Flag and what it represents.
