For his profile picture on Facebook, he chose an image of Sanders. In rebuttal: I have never said "life sucks", only the policies of the Republicans.

According to the Saint Clair County Clerk's Office, where Hodgkinson is registered to vote, he has repeatedly voted in Democratic primaries in recent years.

She said he has been living in Alexandria, Virginia, for the past two months. Orear said he had no idea that Hodgkinson would be involved in something like a shooting. The daughter refused and locked herself in a bedroom before Hodgkinson again forced his way in and "became violent", grabbing her by her hair and throwing her on the floor, according to the report.

"He was this union tradesman, pretty stocky, and we stayed up talking politics", he said. "I didn't really talk to him too much". Over the years, Hodgkinson has had multiple scrapes with local police and disputes with neighbors and his daughter, records show.

Hodgkinson had arrests in his background for a series of minor offenses and at least one more serious matter. The sheriff received a phone call reporting about 50 shots "in the pine trees" in a lightly populated area near Belleville. Hodgkinson explained that he was simply using it for target practice and the deputy did not file any charges.

Hodgkinson apparently complied and the deputy left without taking any further action.

Later, Joel Fernandez, the boyfriend of the woman who was punched, went to Hodgkinson's home to confront him.

At first, Brennman said, he figured Hodgkinson was a contractor.

Just Tuesday morning, Hodgkinson posted a cartoon on Facebook explaining "How does a bill work?" Police also recovered a 12-guage shotgun. The charges were later dismissed. He said he was part of a "99%" team drawing attention to the amount of money and political power the top 1 percent of Americans acquired.
