Doha has vehemently denied the allegations, suggesting the decision to sever ties was pre-meditated and based on "fabricated claims".

Iran's Foreign Ministry has urged the Arab nations who have cut ties to Qatar to negotiate an end to the crisis. The US President insists Qatar funds and supports terrorism at a high level.

"Pakistan believes in unity among Muslim states and has made serious efforts for its promotion", said foreign office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria.

The UAE had served as a central stopping point in cargo shipments.

Gulf Arab states have issued no public demands to Qatar, but a list that has been circulating includes severing diplomatic ties with Iran, expulsion of all members of the Palestinian Hamas group and the Muslim Brotherhood, the freezing of all bank accounts of Hamas members, ending support for "terrorist organizations" and ending interference in Egyptian affairs.

Qatar's Hamad Port is 420 nautical miles from Sohar Port and 1,131 nautical miles from Salalah.
