Paul Ryan Says Trump Should 'Let Robert Mueller Do His Job'

"I think the way the investigation is shaping up, he's out to get the president".

White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday that the president "has no intention" to dismiss Mueller.

Trump would either have to order deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein to fire Mueller, or alternatively, repeal a set of 18-year-old regulations protecting the special counsel.

"I think he's considering perhaps terminating the special counsel". And you suggested - I think I heard you suggesting that there is a question about the goal of his investigation. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Rosenstein said he found no good cause to fire Mueller.

In his testimony June 8, Comey detailed his meetings with Trump before he was sacked May 9, including conversations in which the president referred to the Russian Federation investigations as a cloud over his presidency.

After initially being praised by Republicans and Democrats for his integrity, in recent days Mueller's impartiality as special counsel has been questioned by some Trump supporters.

"Considering the unique circumstances of this matter, I have determined that a special counsel is necessary in order for the American people to have full confidence in the outcome", Rosenstein said in a statement back then.

"It's a mistake to pretend that this is going to be some neutral investigation", he said.

After news of Ruddy's interview surfaced, Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, tweeted: "If President fired Bob Mueller, Congress would immediately re-establish independent counsel and appoint Bob Mueller". The president responded by saying Comey did not tell the truth. Some of Trump's allies now claim the results Mueller comes up with in the Russian Federation investigation will be tainted and biased due to Mueller's relationship with Comey and Mueller's hiring of several attorneys to help him with the investigation that the Trump boosters deem to be partisan.

Ryan told reporters Tuesday: "The best advice would be to let Robert Mueller do his job".

"I don't think donations are disqualifying at all, but if you represented the Clinton Foundation or Mrs. Clinton herself, that would be a bit disturbing", Graham said. The person spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations. "Right now the role of the president is to govern the United States of America". I never said that the President told me. "I think there's a conflict there", Ruddy said.

Newsmax Media CEO Christopher Ruddy stood by his claims after the White House downplayed his comments and suggested he did not know what he was talking about. "Don't waste time trying to undermine one of your few allies", the message read, which the host read on-air. When asked about the interview by CNN, Ruddy said: "My quote is accurate". "With respect to the subject, only the president or his attorneys are authorized to comment".
