'I'm good at them' - Lindelof offers to take free-kicks for Man Utd

Manchester United has lodged a bid of £30million for Benfica defender Nelson Semedo, according to a report in Spain. Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also interested in the Portugal worldwide but Jose Mourinho has stepped up the negotiations to fend off the competition and lure the right-back to Old Trafford.

It's understood United are preparing to table a bid of around £30million for the highly-rated Portugal global as Mourinho scours the market for defensive reinforcements.

Hector Bellerin is still being heavily linked with Barcelona but may be hard to prise away from Arsenal.

Should United land Semedo, it would be a long-term solution at right-back at Old Trafford.

Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira has already been in England to speak to Manchester United about the player, but still couldn't manage to close this deal.

With the early Monday incident, details are coming together with some rumors solidifying as fact. "He just came into all of us". He added: "There was a mob attempt to hurt him, so we pushed people away from him until he was safely taken by police".

Guardiola's old club Barcelona also remain interested in the Portuguese but they are reportedly not willing to pay any more than £26.25m.

Benfica expect to raise at least 40 million euros from Semedo and are likely to reject this 35 million euro offer.

Mundo Deportivo suggests that Barcelona don't plan on entering the race anytime soon as signing Bellerin from Arsenal remains as Ernesto Valverde's top priority. The player has four caps for Portugal and is now in Russian Federation with the Portugal squad for the Confederations Cup. He was an unused substitute for the 2-2 draw with Mexico yesterday.

"Victor is a very talented young player, who has a great future ahead of him at United", said Mourinho.
