A Spanish state prosecutor on Tuesday accused Ronaldo of four counts of tax fraud from 2011-14 totaling 14.7 million euros ($16.5 million), claiming he used a shell company in the Virgin Islands to hide the true amount of income made from image rights, among other means of illegally reducing the amount of tax he paid. "At the beginning we couldn't enjoy good control of the ball, but then we managed to balance things out and could have won it in the end".

Martins wasted an opportunity to make the game safe as he fired narrowly wide on the spin and, just as Portugal thought they had clinched the points, Moreno flicked a corner in off the far post to leave the European champions frustrated.

There were concerns that the match could be suspended after warnings from Federation Internationale de Football Association against homophobic chants by Mexican fans, but they were only heard a couple of times during the match and did not cause any disruption.
