Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi told IRNA that agents had arrested some other terrorists linked to those who committed the twin attacks.

"The terrorists first went by the vehicle to the mausoleum and after dropping two of them, went to the city center to attack the parliament", the police said in a statement published on state media.

The attacks on Tehran's parliament complex and the shrine of revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini also wounded more than 50 people and were the first claimed by IS in Iran.

Undaunted, officials say Iran will step up the strategy, which includes sending fighters to battle Islamic State in Syria and Iraq alongside allied Shi'ite militia groups.

Also, Trump, contrary to his campaign remarks, praised the U.S. -Saudi "strategic partnership" and made Iran the focus of his anti-terrorism rhetoric.

This is not the first time Saudi would be facing the ISIS, earlier, the terror outfit attacked security forces of Saudi and bombings, shootings that target the kingdom's Shi'ites.

If that death toll is confirmed, it would make the Grenfell Tower blaze the deadliest in London since the Second World War. Their search for missing residents has been stalled because of safety concerns over the tower's condition.

The funerals of several of the victims were held on Friday in the Iranian capital in an official ceremony in Parliament and at the University of Tehran, where thousands of people gathered.

Khamenei said the attacks "will not damage the Iranian nation's determination and the obvious result is nothing except an increase in hate for the governments of the United States and their stooges in the region like Saudi [Arabia]".

"Two of the killed criminals were foreign nationals. while the identity of other members is being investigated", Maleki said, adding that weapons and an IS flag were seized during the raid.

Iranian officials have alleged that the United States was extending supporting to the ISIL, which has taken responsibility of recent attacks in Iran, claiming country has evidence in possession to prove it.

On Sunday Khamenei said attacks by IS in Europe and elsewhere show that Western policies in the Middle East have backfired.

The event was attended by the heads of executive, legislative and judiciary branches of government, President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Judiciary chief Sadeq Amoli-Larijani.
