Free agent CB Justin Gilbert suspended one year

Per Ian Rappaport of NFL Network, Gilbert has been suspended for one year by the league.

Gilbert was given a four-game suspension in May for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Gilbert, a standout defensive back for Oklahoma State, was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2014, but struggled to make his mark.

As of right now, there is no clear word as to whether this suspension is on top of the earlier punishment or whether it was a separate violation.

Ronaldo summoned for hearing as Mourinho also accused of tax fraud
Barcelona star Lionel Messi was sentenced to a 21-month jail sentence and 2.09-million-euro fine a year ago for tax fraud. Florentino Perez released an interview with Onda Cero talking about several issues regarding the future of Real Madrid .

Justin Gilbert's unemployment will last for at least another year.

Gilbert is now a free agent after being released by the Pittsburgh Steelers in February. He recorded three tackles in minimal action and was released in February.

After he spent two seasons in Cleveland, the Browns traded Gilbert to Pittsburgh, but he played sparingly for the Steelers, mostly on special teams, in 2016. Because any team that might sign him would have to wait a full season before Gilbert could play, the year-long ban might be a death sentence for Gilbert's professional football career.
