Boeing, Ryanair finalize order for 10 additional 737 MAXs

The United deal brought the number of MAX 10s covered by air show order announcements to a higher than expected total of more than 320, though more than half were conversions and underlying new orders and commitments for Boeing stood closer to 160.

The £20 million investment facility will open in 2018 and will manufacture actuation components for Boeing's 737, 737 Max and 777 aircrafts.

"The addition of this advanced aircraft to our fleet will enable us to continue to offer the state-of-the-art flying experience our customers expect when traveling with us", said Gerry Laderman, United Airlines senior vice president of finance, procurement and treasurer. "This all new MAX 737 aircraft has 8 more seats than our current 189 seat Boeing 737-800s and incorporates the latest technology engines and winglets which reduces fuel consumption and noise emissions, ensuring we remain Europe's greenest, cleanest airline".

"We are very excited about adding more 737 MAX airplanes to our fleet", said Xie Jinguo, General Manager, Ruili Airlines. "We also appreciate Okay's reaffirmation of additional 737 MAX 8s, which represents the heart of the single-aisle market. This significant milestone will be the first of many as we look to build on our strong partnership going forward".

The company thus became the first Boeing 737 MAX operator in Romania. It announced more than 100 orders worth about $13.5bn, although some were customers changing their selection of models from previous orders.

Montana Counties to Receive Millions in Federal PILT Funds
The federal government has released $31 million in payment in lieu of taxes to Montana counties with public land. Esmeralda and Lincoln counties have the highest percentages of federal property.

"The 737 MAX family of airplanes is the ideal combination of single-aisle aircraft for the Lion Air Group, with their new level fuel-efficiency as well as range and capacity capabilities", said Lion Air Group president Edward Sirait.

He said the Max series is oversold through 2020, and capacity is finite for the model favored by budget carriers.

Less than 10% of the sales in Paris were for long-range twin aisle airliners and neither manufacturer unveiled deals for their largest aircraft, the superjumbo Airbus A380 and Boeing 747.

The forecast comprised a five percent boost for deliveries of single-aisle jet such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320, the cash cows of the world's two major aircraft makers. As in 2009 and 2011, when the industry bucked a retreating world economy.
