Lucky man strolls into a bar after being struck by rogue bus

Smith suffered only scratches and bruises, according to The Guardian. Reading Buses told The Telegraph that the driver has been "taken off the road" pending an investigation.

Police are still trying to determine what caused the bus to crash into Simon. An ambulance came to take the 53-year-old from the bar to hospital, from where he was discharged just hours later.

Smith told BBC South Today he felt "lucky to be alive". The CCTV footage shows that he was struck by flying debris, but that appeared to be just a minor inconvenience to him.

"WE ARE OPEN! The bus didn't hit the Purple Turtle".

Smith was knocked to the ground as he walked along Gun Street.

"I hadn't lost consciousness so I knew what had happened".

It looks like that's what Simon Smith was thinking on Saturday morning when, while crossing the street, he was hit by a speeding bus.

Police and the bus company were investigating the accident.

Surveillance video in Berkshire captured the moment on Saturday when a Reading Buses vehicle careened into an unsuspecting pedestrian.

The Reading Buses spokesman said: "We are obviously shocked by the incident as well as the very graphic footage that has been shared a number of times".

The spokesman said Reading Buses hope that the pedestrian who was hit in the accident "is recovering from his injuries".

RT contacted the Purple Turtle Bar, who uploaded the footage to their YouTube account on Tuesday before taking it down.

'No arrests have been made'.

Smith eventually went to the hospital, but was released later that day with a few bruises.
