South Korean Sports Minister Do Jong-hwan said last week that he would hold talks with the International Olympic Committee about forming a joint female ice hockey team for the 2018 Olympics.

"Are you ready to come out for a dialogue with the DPRK, without raising 'the north's nuclear issue?'" said the DPRK official organ in charge of dealing with inter-Korean relations.

Over 70 percent of South Koreans support reestablishing dialogue channels with North Korea according to a recent survey by the National Unification Advisory Council.

The U.S. has completely unrealistic expectations as to the effects of pressure on North Korea.
