Beyonce named highest earning artist of 2016

And so it goes for the majority of acts on our list: If you wanna be one of the biggest breadwinners in the music industry, you gotta do it on the road.

In April of 2016, the entertainer released her successful album-and-film combo Lemonade which was swiftly followed by the Formation World Tour which hit stadiums across the globe, bringing in $161 million from the USA dates alone.

Billboard reports in its annual Top 50 Money Makers of 2016 list that Springsteen was the third-highest-paid musical act of 2016, collecting a cool $42.2 million between sales, streaming, publishing and touring. His Summer Sixteen tour, which also featured Future, did pretty well with $13.6 million.

Meanwhile, while touring fueled the top 3 earners, Drake flexed his re-spins, taking the fourth spot at $37.3 million, including a gargantuan $18.1 million from streaming alone. Adele's tour in 2016 was the fourth-highest grossing, moving 2.2 million albums in the U.S. alone more than any artist alone- except Prince.

British baby Charlie Gard to be evaluated by U.S. doctor
Connie and Chris, from west London, hope the new information will convince Mr Justice Francis to let them take Charlie to America. A British judge says it is inexcusable that a hospital treating critically ill baby Charlie Gard has been abused and threatened.

Brooks made a robust $8.2 million in 2016 touring income, but almost matched that total in sales royalties ($7.6 million), one of music's top earners in that category.

Adele (duh), Coldplay, Luke Bryan, and Justin Bieber were all among the top earners, with Kenny Chesney rounding out the top 10.

Though he told fans he was $53 million dollars in debt during an on-stage rant during his Saint Pablo tour in 2016, Kanye West earned $26.1 that same year, despite cancelling part of the tour.
