Liverpool 1, Wigan 1

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says Mohamed Salah will be better for the run after scoring in Friday's 1-1 draw with friendly opponents Wigan Athletic.

Wigan v Liverpool stats from the 1-1 pre-season game.

Salah nearly opened the scoring in the first minute of his Liverpool debut, but he blazed over the crossbar before Lallana fired narrowly wide.

Quick passing between Salah and Lallana opened up the flawless chance for the Jurgen Klopp's men to grab the equalizer but the Brazilian chose to make a pass, which went astray.

With the Reds falling behind to Alex Gilbey's effort after 21 minutes, Salah came to the rescue on the stroke of half-time as he marked his first appearance for the club with a goal as he tapped home Firmino's pass and equalise for the visitors.

Both teams made adjustments in the second half but couldn't find a breakthrough, while defender Lovren hit the post in the 77th minute.

The operator of the second involved passenger vehicle's name is now being withheld, pending death notification to family members. Another northbound commercial vehicle failed to stop and struck the last auto in line triggering the chain reaction.

Nice moves, near misses and Salah's debut strike.

Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana could play just three days after they returned to pre-season training, but Sadio Mane remains out as he continues to work his way back to full fitness following his knee injury.

Following the Wigan match, Liverpool will head out to Hong Kong for next weeks Asia Trophy games, where they first take on Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

"But you only have to look around and see what the clubs in this area are doing to realise it's a real hotbed of football".

"I have no idea at the moment, but in a few moments I will know".
