Rajon Rondo had meeting with New Orleans Pelicans Thursday

According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, the Pelicans and Rondo are negotiating about a potential one-year contract. Holiday re-signed with the Pelicans for $126 million over five years and said he would be willing to play away from the ball.

A reunion between center #DeMarcus Cousins and veteran point guard #Rajon Rondo with the #New Orleans Pelicans is in the works. General manager Dell Demps and head coach Alvin Gentry were among those who met with the 31-year-old point guard.

If a deal pushes through, Rondo will be reunited with Cousins.

The former Chicago Bulls point guard met with the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday over a potential one-year contract with the team, ESPN's Zach Lowe reported on Twitter, citing National Basketball Association sources.

Rondo averaged just 7.8 points per game with the Bulls, which was his lowest mark since he was a rookie.

The state also awarded distribution licenses to one alcohol wholesaler in Reno and one in Las Vegas in mid-July. As of Friday, a state law said only liquor wholesalers can transport marijuana from grow houses to stores.

He was suspended for one game in early December for conduct detrimental to the team after a verbal altercation of assistant coach Jim Boylen, including towel whipping him in the face.

However, Rondo missed the rest of the series due to a broken thumb, allowing the Celtics to sweep the next four games.

In their lone season together, Rondo averaged a league-leading 11.7 assists per game, to along with 11.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals. With Rondo sidelined, the Bulls lost four straight.

Rondo, 31, has averaged 10.7 points, 8.5 assists and 4.9 rebounds in 11 National Basketball Association seasons for Boston, Dallas, Sacramento and Chicago.

He also has played 96 playoff games, won a championship with the Celtics in 2007-08 and can provide leadership.
