Officials are preparing for more evacuation alerts and orders as wildfires in British Columbia risk worsening this weekend.

"As for the wind, we're especially concerned in what that's going to entail", Skrepnek said.

"We could be seeing some pretty extreme and aggressive conditions".

Lightening and strong winds are in the forecast and could fuel the dozens of fires burning across the province, three of which surround Williams Lake. The committee includes the ministers of justice, national defence, indigenous and northern affairs, and public safety and emergency preparedness.

The Chilcotin region, near Williams Lake, stands as the largest fire - made up of several smaller fires - at 40,000 hectares in size.

Trump, however, sat motionless with his arms folded, while his French counterpart smiled broadly throughout. Last fall, BBC News reported that Trump digs music by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Elton John and Eminem.

Regional district offices in Quesnel were slated to open Friday to provide permits allowing workers to travel on closed roads to reach the open pit copper-molybdenum mine operated by Taseko Mines Ltd. A deputy chief is also in Williams Lake to assist in resource deployment decisions.

BC's Cariboo regional district has been the hardest hit, with 10,000 people under evacuation orders and a further 10,750 under evacuation alert, according to CBC reports.

"They have significant experience with interface fires so I'm proud to be able to send those people up and to add that assistance to the community", said Whiting who started his fire fighting career in Williams Lake.

Skrepnek said more burns were planned for fires around Williams Lake, 150 Mile House and Ashcroft.
