Brides panic as popular bridal shop Alfred Angelo abruptly closes

When Zoll emerged, she was holding a flowing navy blue bridesmaids dress, the same style and color as the dress she needed to blend into the wedding party, just two sizes too big. But when she was told Thursday she could not get a refund, Whelton started to cry.

Along with the brides, employees at Alfred Angelo were also left in the lurch. "Out of eight adult bridesmaids, only three have dresses", Damon said in a telephone interview. "I heard some of the dresses were going to this Enchanted Bridal and I didn't know the person at all, and it was a huge group, so I thought I'll try that".

Known for its Disney-themed designs, the company has operated 60 stores in the USA that sell its products.

Alfred Angelo, a Florida-based bridal shop, has apparently shut down without telling its customers.

The company declined to provide details, but the bankruptcy filing lists the company's estimated assets at $50,000 or less, with estimated liabilities at $50 million to $100 million. Customers seeking information about their orders are advised to send an e-mail to

Damon got wind of the store's possible closing on Thursday. "I was just over the moon", said Woods.

"It hits heavy right here and we live in a - nothing's constant anymore in this world - and the one thing about a wedding dress is it's not just a dress", Jones said. Fugate said she was just in the store last week.

She asked for a tracking number, or the name of the shipping service.

Katie Mooney, 29, of Saugus, was scheduled to pick up her dress this Monday after paying $2,000 for it, plus $750 in alterations.

One such bride was Michelle Martin, who was a week away from getting married. "Nobody answers the phone".

The group, said Epstein, won the World Series and has a goal of winning more, but starting pitching was needed for that to happen. The Chicago White Sox rotation will look different to start the second half than how it did to end the first half.

"At this moment, I'm freaking out", she said.

Each dress carried a $129 price tag and a $15 rush fee. As of Friday afternoon, she had been unable to figure out where the US$195 dress was. Again, I'm grateful I don't have to pay the balance. You've got something borrowed, something blue, and the ideal dress.

The Bella Sera Boutique in Danvers posted an invite for all Alfred Angelo brides on Facebook. Please call us or come in any time.

The e-mail confirmation sent to Nicole Lis.

Brides from Virginia to California took to social media to vent their frustrations.

Other national chains are also trying to help out, discounting dresses by as much as 30 per cent, for affected customers. Inside: the dress ordered from Alfred Angelo in June.

"When I saw everything on the news, I chose to drive by the store and saw it was closed", Lis said via Facebook.

"I hope all the girls whose dresses are in there are able to get them", she said.

Just weeks after Pucci found her ideal gown, she received a shocking phone call from her mom about the dress designer.

Zoll said she was thankful for the help.
