Disney confirms Star Wars-inspired resort, TRON roller coaster (and more)

"It's unlike anything that exists today", Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Bob Chapek said at the Disney Fan Club's D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif. "From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story". Director Rian Johnson shared the stage at the expo with his Star Wars: The Last Jedi cast - including Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Mark Hamill. It was announced a day after the company released a first look of the large-scale model for epic lands themed around the superhit franchise.

It'll be a long trip for Californians, however, as Walt Disney World appears to be the only park offering the experience. An exact opening date wasn't revealed, but the hotel will be a part of the upcoming Star Wars Galaxy's Edge land being created at Walt Disney World in Orlando. Once you enter the 'Spaceship' you will be given a role and a storyline.

You've likely heard about the fancy Star Wars land that will eventually open in both major Disney parks. "You'll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire". A Guardians of the Galaxy attraction will also launch at Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort, as will a Ratatouille-inspired attraction, while a TRON attraction is also set to open at Magic Kingdom Park in time for Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary in 2021. Deep-diving details are protected as fiercely as the Death Star plans, but it sounds like fans' actions on these rides could potentially put a bounty on their head or see them celebrated like a hero at the local cantina.

Sheeran isn't the first guest star with a musical background to make it to Westeros, but he's been the one most prominently featured.

The headset allows players to slot their phones horizontally into it and look through the reflection.

Chapek also announced a new TRON roller coaster coming to Magic Kingdom.

The Imagineers call this guy "Jake" and he would not stand still for a photo.
