It added that he is also a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Separately, Ty Cobb, a veteran Hogan Lovells partner based in Washington DC, is set to join Trump's legal team as special counsel.

President Trump has hired a former federal prosecutor to assist in how the White House handles its response to the expanding Russian Federation probes. And they have been frustrated that they often learn about big developments just before they happen, as they did on Saturday with The New York Times story on Trump Jr.'s meeting with a person he believed to be a Russian government attorney.

The shift is especially notable because Gorelick has long withstood intense criticism of her representation of Kushner.

Kushner's lawyers told Yahoo News that the omission of the meeting with Veselnitskaya was "inadvertent", and said a Kushner staffer had prematurely hit the "send" button on the SF-86 form before it had been fully completed. He was joined by as many as seven other individuals in the meeting, one who now works in the White House.

Marc Kasowitz or other team members of the President's defense told their clients that the emails were not clarified; Trump informed reporters earlier this week that he only found out about the meeting just two days ago.

Trump's overall approval rating has fallen from 42% at the 100-day mark of his presidency in April compared to a Washington Post/ABC poll at that time. Gorelick made the announcement on Friday, saying that she will stick to "completing the work" regarding Kushner's ethics compliance, security clearance and disclosures, which she was brought on for originally. Kushner will now be represented on the Russian Federation probes by Abbe Lowell, a well-known Washington criminal defense attorney, while Gorelick will remain on Kushner's legal team to represent him on other matters.

Details on the meeting with the Russian lawyer emerged weeks after the Justice Department named former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel to investigate Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential race, including any evidence of collusion with the Trump campaign.

Besides, roughly 4 in 10 Americans said they see Trump's campaign team intentionally helped Russian efforts to influence the election.

The United States Intelligence Community has concluded with high confidence that the Russian government interfered in the 2016 US presidential election.
