Euro Giants Ready To Offer £80m For Arsenal Star Alexis Sanchez

According to a story from the Independent, Paris Saint-Germain is ready to unload a reported £80 million for Alexis Sanchez, who has been keen on leaving Arsenal for some time.

Sanchez will, therefore, be in contention for a starting berth when the Gunners open their 2017-18 Premier League campaign with a home date against Leicester on Friday.

The player himself has hinted on more than one occasion that he would like to leave the club, although he also admitted that it was ultimately the club's decision and one which he would respect.

PSG still want another striker and, while they are also still pursuing Monaco's Kylian Mbappe, have not given up Sanchez.

"We are trying to extend the contract of Alexis but we are not there yet".

The Gunners boss said in a press conference that the Chilean global has an abdominal strain and could be out for one or two weeks.

The speculation, however, comes in the nearly immediate aftermath of Arsene Wenger's comments ahead of the Charity Shield on Sunday against Chelsea, where he said that Sanchez will stay and will respect his {Wenger's} decision that he will stay.

Reports say that the Chilean has been trying to make a move to Manchester City for some time now, but that has not deterred les Parisiens from making an offer that Arsenal can not refuse. "I think he will not play at Stoke, yes".

And while Arsenal seem set on keeping him at the club until his contract expires next June, a hefty offer from France may tempt them into a U-turn.
