New Land Rover Discovery banks on petrol power

Deliveries at Jaguar Land Rover grew at a slower 4 percent pace in the quarter because of weak demand including for Land Rover's Discovery Sport and Range Rover Sport SUVs. The starting price of the All-New Land Rover Discovery is ₹ 68.05 Lakh.

The Land Rover Discovery can be booked at Land Rover's 25 authorised retailers in India or online at

With five petrol variants on offer from the get-go, this is the first time that a new Land Rover is riding high on gasoline power in India. The 2017 Discovery is an important offering considering the fact that the SUV is based on the latest Premium Lightweight Architecture (PLA), making it 480kg lighter than the previous model.

As you might already know by now, Land Rover has started accepting pre-orders for the all-new Discovery in India.

Haroun said: "The first thing I wanted to do was reach the final but I've had to fight for a medal. My whole year has been focused on the world championships.

Tata Motors owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) on Wednesday said it has opened bookings for the fifth generation of Land Rover Discovery. There are subtle character lines and sharper details along the chrome grille, LED headlamps, and the bumpers.

McGovern was in the headlines a few weeks ago for criticising former Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham's role in the design of a special edition Range Rover Evoque. The side profile of the new-age Discovery looks nearly like the smaller Discovery Sport, evidently so because of the slanted and thick C-pillar.

In comparison to the new Discovery, there aren't many petrol alternatives in this segment. Jaguar Land Rover unveiled its new Velar SUV this year and plans to introduce its first all-electric Jaguar I-Pace vehicle. The petrol variant will be powered by a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 unit that is capable of pumping out 340 PS of maximum power along with 450 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Land Rover Discovery competes in the luxury SUV segment against the Mercedes-Benz GLS, Audi Q7, and the Volvo XC90.
