Trump Promises "Fire And Fury" For North Korea

Trump Promises

This weekend, the U.N. Security Council slapped its toughest sanctions yet on North Korea over its latest test of a ballistic missile that could be used to deliver a nuclear weapon.

The president tweeted: 'After many years of failure, countries are coming together to finally address the dangers posed by North Korea. North Korea also said through its state-operated media that sanctions will not force it to negotiate over its nuclear program.

Mattis added that any military solution to the crisis would be "tragic on an unbelievable scale".

The Pentagon did not comment on the story, but the Post said two U.S. officials familiar with the analysis had verified the assessment's broad conclusions, and CNN said it had confirmed the report.

North Korea may have successfully produced a nuclear weapon small enough to fit inside its missiles.

This file photo distributed by the North Korean government shows what was said to be the launch of a Hwasong-14 intercontinental ballistic missile on July 4, 2017. Experts estimate that North Korea has between 30 and 60 nuclear warheads. He also said that regular participation of United States bombers in military exercises near the Korean Peninsula was "a provocation".

Despite increasing global condemnation, North Korea has ramped up its nuclear capabilities to a potentially unsafe level.

Netflix Makes Bold Buy With First Acquisition
Global streaming service Netflix announced its first acquisition on Monday, having acquired comic-book publisher Millarworld . Recode reported the acquisition of Millarworld is smaller than the estimated $300 million a year Netflix pays Disney.

U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley called the resolution "the single largest economic sanctions package ever leveled against the North Korean regime" and "the most stringent set of sanctions on any country in a generation". "They will be met with the fire and the fury like the world has never seen".

"This is a risky moment that requires skill, experience and knowledge to deal with North Korea's threats and aggression".

The Defense Intelligence Agency and Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment on the report, but the analysis matches a Japanese defense assessment this week that said it is possible North Korea has achieved the hard task of miniaturization.

Trump issued the warning during a briefing Tuesday afternoon on opioid addiction at his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey.

North Korea also threatened the continental US, warning that "it is a daydream for the U.S.to think that its mainland is invulnerable". In July, the U.S. State Department confirmed that North Korea had launched an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching the United States.

North Korea, in statements on state-run TV, said it is "carefully examining" a strike against the US territory.
