Colbert Interviews God, Mocks Trump's 'Divine Permission' To Fight North Korea

The authors went on to denigrate the popular idea amongst evangelicals that the United States enjoys a unique and unconditional blessing from the Lord.

If the little guy in North Korea is off his trolley, he has succeeded in his mission of aggravating the most powerful nation in the world.

Over the past two years, Jeffress said, Trump has been "very measured, very thoughtful in every response". While visiting Jeffress' Texas-based megachurch in January, Trump received an impassioned endorsement from the First Baptist pastor.

Father Jonathan Morris, who like Jeffress is a Fox News religion contributor, argued that while he agrees with Jeffress on many things, he does not believe a single biblical passage should be used as justification "for a very particular and complex political policy and especially a military policy". In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong-Un.

"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States", the president said on Tuesday.

"I believe the Bible gives President Trump the moral authority to use whatever force necessary including assassination or even war to deal with the evil of this North Korean dictator", said Jeffress.

"If anything, Romans 13 creates a conundrum, because it could be interpreted that Kim Jung Un has authority to govern", she said.

Uber chat lets riders message drivers in-app
A post on Uber's blog reads : "Riders and drivers can contact one another using apps outside of Uber ". The cost makes both riders and drivers hesitant to make calls, which in turn can lead to cancellations.

"For he is the Servant of God: An avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer", reads the Scripture.

Mr. Jeffress has frequently made headlines for expressing tendentious views. But Dr. Robert Jeffress, one of Trump's evangelical advisors, backs up his own earlier remarks, saying the commander-in-chief has a biblical authority to make the statements - and to back them up with action. "You see, God is NOT against building walls!" In fact, for the conservative Christian, constructing walls to protect America is an imperative.

'Some Christians, perhaps younger Christians, have to think this through, ' Jeffress said, anticipating a possible backlash for his controversial statement.

When asked if he has shared that with the president, Jeffress said: "The White House knows my feelings about this".

Pastor Robert Jeffress appears in a screen capture of a video from First Baptist Dallas. North Korea responded to Trump's aggressive stance with a threat to strike the US territory of Guam.

Wit said satellite imagery of North Korea just wasn't showing the drumbeat of war playing out for normal citizens. Indeed, this would mean that North Korea has attained the status of a legitimate nuclear power.
