Sonic Mania Delayed on PC

PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One owners will still get their copy on-time, four days from now on August 15.

The event in question relates to an early unlicensed stream of Sonic Mania, which revealed several unannounced zones and features which had been kept secret by the development team.

Sega also clarified today that the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions of Sonic Mania are still going to launch on August 15, so console players don't have anything to worry about with this delay. "And we're going to maintain that level of quality and consistency and dedication to that quality".

Sonic Mania is doing what most Sonic fans have wanted since the blue hedgehog transitioned into three dimensions: taking it back to the original quadrilogy. The PC version of the game has been delayed to two weeks later, for August 29. The game is scheduled to launch later this month.

Today during a live unboxing stream of the Sonic Mania collector's edition, it was revealed that unfortunately for PC owners, the game will be delayed until August 29.

Sonic Mania's opening cinematic is so retro, it's even got a slightly chubby main character again. You'll probably recognise his signature style in many of Sonic's gestures and poses throughout the video; it's worth pausing or slowing it to see all the little flourishes.
