Strictly Come Dancing confirms 'overweight vicar' as fifth contestant

The Reverend Richard Coles is the fifth celebrity to be confirmed for this year's Strictly Come Dancing. "There's more bling in my vestry than in their dressing room".

Speaking about how he is preparing for the show he said: "I've cut down on pork pies".

Joining Richard on the new series of "Strictly" are "This Morning" host Ruth Langsford, "Emmerdale" star Gemma Atkinson, former Saturdays" singer Mollie King and "EastEnders' actor Davood Ghadami.

The 55-year-old, who enjoyed top-of-the-charts success with The Communards' cover of Don't Leave Me This Way in 1986, told Chris Evans' breakfast show on BBC Radio 2 that he had been "waiting by the phone for 11 years" to take part in Strictly, which returns to screens next month.

"I want to challenge myself and do something I've never done before".

Joining them will be EastEnders' heartthrob Davood.

Host of ITV's This Morning and regular Loose Women panellist Ruth Langsford was the third confirmed celeb.

"I'm so excited, I'm really nervous as well". "It'll be a welcome change worrying about my next hot move instead of my next hot flush!"

"I did disco dancing from the age of nine to ten but that was kind of cartwheels across the floor, eat my pic "n" mix and go home".

The series will air in the fall.

This series will also see a new face on the judging panel after Len Goodman's departure previous year after 14 series.
