Isco has signed new contract — Real Madrid

LUKA MODRIC will be forced to sit out Real Madrid's Spanish Super Cup clash with Barcelona on Sunday... due to a red card he received THREE years ago.

The 25-year-old actually signed the deal in July, before heading to the United States for Real's pre-season tour, but it was agreed not to make the extension public until this month.

Isco again proved his worth to Madrid on Tuesday night by netting the key second goal in his side's 2-1 win over Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup, building on his impressive end to the 2016-17 campaign. His contract also comes with an optional fifth year to 2022.

It has been reported that Asensio's release clause is €80m (£72m), a huge amount for a player of his age and inexperience. The midfielder's previous clause was rumoured to be €150m and increasing it by such a significant amount falls in line with Los Blancos ensuring that their player's clauses are seen as deterrents to buyers, not incentives.

The Blaugrana are said to be desperate to bring in an attacker this season after selling Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain for a world record transfer fee last week.

"There are no players in Madrid's first-team squad with a clause below 500 million", AS's source explained.

Isco, 25, joined Real Madrid from Malaga after being one of the sensations of the European Under-21 Championship in the summer of 2013.

FC Barcelona are reportedly plotting a shock bid for one of Real Madrid's up-and-coming stars.

Also, there is significantly less likelihood that the weather phenomenon known as El Nino will form. A prediction for 5-9 hurricanes remains unchanged from the initial May outlook.
