Detroit Red Wings condemn use of logo by white nationalists at rally

The group has been marching with the Red Wings logo and displays it on their YouTube channel, which has a total of 16 subscribers.

The Red Wings organization condemns the use of the classic team logo at a racist white nationalist rally Saturday in Charlottesville, Va., where one group carried placards with the Detroit hockey logo.

How did this happen?

The Detroit Right Wings are part of the Identitarian movement, which began in Europe but has spread across the Atlantic Ocean in recent years.

According to reports from the Guardian, Coutinho requested his transfer via email , but the Reds have rejected it straightaway. Liverpool's owners have said that "no offers for Philippe Coutinho will be considered" after two approaches from Barcelona .

Several of the right-wing sign holders have held up signs that feature the Detroit Red Wings' logo, which led to the team's statement.

The Detroit Red Wings threaten legal action after their logo was used by white supremacists in Charlottesville. "We will take immediate and all necessary steps to [ensure] the use is discontinued as promptly as possible, and will vigorously pursue other remedies, as appropriate".

The group's YouTube Channel has since been taken down, with a notification stating "This video has been removed for violating YouTube's policy on hate speech".

White nationalists continued the protests Saturday morning at the University of Virginia, carrying tiki torches. One person died and 19 were hurt when a vehicle was driven intentionally into a throng of anti-racism demonstrators.
