Olympics could open North Korea -- Rex Tilley

Discussing the escalating war of words between the USA and North Korea over the latter's rogue nuclear program, Ellison raised eyebrows by saying the North Korea's despotic leader was acting better than the US president.

"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States".

It said the U.S. was ready "along with its allies, to apply the full range of diplomatic, economic and military measures" to end any nuclear threat from the North. North Korea dominated the conversation between the two leaders, according to a readout of the call.

A spokesman for the Strategic Force of the Korean People's Army, or KPA, told North Korea's state-run media the KPA is "carefully examining the operational plan for making an enveloping fire at the areas around Guam with medium-to-long-range strategic ballistic rocket Hwasong-12 in order to contain the USA major military bases on Guam".

Police strongly denied rumours that a mosque was damaged during the gunfight between the security forces and the militants. Two soldiers were killed and six security personnel were injured in two separate encounters in Kashmir.

Trump also reiterated their mutual commitment to denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula, it added.

"This is being put together incrementally and of all the countries and all the issues you deal with، North Korea is not the one to be kludging together statements by the president and cabinet secretaries because the risk of miscalculation is so high،" Medeiros said by telephone from Tokyo، Japan.

Trump raised alarm around the world - and particularly in Asia - by warning that North Korea would face "fire and fury like the world has never seen" if it were to keep threatening the US.
