Wozniacki Reaches 6th Final of 2017 with Win over Stephens in Toronto

Wozniacki routinely dispatched resurgent American Sloane Stephens, 6-2, 6-3, to book her spot on the Rogers Cup final in Toronto.

Halep defeated Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia 6-4, 6-2 while fifth seeded Svitolina rallied from a first set loss to beat reigning Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

The sixth seed carried the momentum from her win over Pliskova into the match with Stephens, who was playing in only her third event after missing 11 months with a foot injury. She won this tournament in 2010 in Montreal.

Wozniacki, who is a former World No. 1, broke the Czech at love to get back on serve at 4-4 of the deciding set. "I was going for the next one, and then the next one again".

The host confirmed the news to viewers after Karthik Nagesan became the second housemate to be evicted on Friday night. However, during CBBBOTS last night, Rylan revealed that the 29-year-old had walked.

When the action resumed, Svitolina, the world number five from Ukraine, regrouped and forced a decider after claiming the second set in 44 minutes during which both women struggled to hold serve. "I just didn't feel the ball, and I couldn't play".

After breezing through the first set, Wozniacki let a 3-1 lead in the second slip away as Stephens levelled at 3-3. "I just want to give my best, enjoy the match, and try to fight", Halep said. I know that I've been playing really well this year and beaten a lot of the top players, but at the same time with the record I've had here in the past, I wasn't really expecting too much of myself.

Wozniacki will play defending champion Simona Halep or Elina Svitolina for the championship on Sunday at Toronto's Aviva Centre. It's just tough to play her in these conditions.
