Yuvraj Singh dropped, Manish Pandey back for ODIs, T20I

The flamboyant left-handed all-rounder, who is a two-time World Cup victor, has represented India in 304 ODIs since making his debut against Kenya in 2000. "Who said I am not playing?" He rarely bowls and his fielding has gone down a few notches. "In case of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, we still don't have replacement but Yuvraj's place has multiple contenders", the official, who can't come on record told PTI today.

Mumbai batsman Rohit Sharma has been surprisingly named the vice-captain, while opening batsman Lokesh Rahul returned after an injury lay-off. Kedar Jadhav can also keep wickets.

Talented Karnataka batsman Manish Pandey is expected to make a comeback into the Indian limited overs squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka, which could well be veteran Yuvraj Singh's last chance to revive his floundering worldwide career. Both Ashwin and Jadeja, who have been rested for this series, were left wanting as Fakhar Zaman attacked his way to his maiden ODI century in the summit clash.

Seamer Shardul Thakur and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal have been included in the 15-man squad which also features batsmen KL Rahul and Manish Pandey. However, he led India A to victory in a tri-series which involved hosts South Africa A and Afghanistan A.

Lynch did not play in Saturday's game, and he had left the locker room by the time reporters arrived. "I said, 'So you understand how I feel".

Rahul was also an automatic choice once he is fit.

Fully aware of spinners' heavy workload during the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka, the team management and national selectors have rested the spinners.

Veteran Suresh Raina remains on stand by as he has not played ODIs since 2015.
