Swine flu kills 208 in Gujarat this year, over 900 hospitalised

Government sources said that the three medical colleges, Capital Hospital and all District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) are fully prepared for treatment of the affected persons.

"Hospitals in the state are equipped with ventilators, oxygen cylinders, and there is enough stock of tablets and other medicines".

Meanwhile, Myanmar's parliamentarians have put forward an important motion urging the government to carry out extensive education awareness campaign in order to contain the current spread of H1N1 virus and stressing the need for introducing preventive vaccination against the infection.

Earlier in the week, Health Secretary P.K. Meherda assured that the government is taking all possible steps to tackle swine flu and dengue outbreak in the state. Prabhakar said as many as 89 Swine Flu patients are admitted to the hospital while 24 new cases were registered in last 24 hours.

The city lies some 2,100 kilometres (1,330 miles) northeast of Moscow in the oil-rich Khanty-Mansi region. It further said that police had used their weapons on the attacker and "liquidated" him.

The minister also expressed confidence that in the coming days, the number of swine flu cases would gradually come down due to the government's "quick response". Out of them, 857 have been have been cured, 1,225 are still under treatment while 230 have died, it said.

These health workers have already completed the task of identifying swine flu positive cases through door-to-door survey, covering over four crore citizens, the release said.
