Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked the Red Cross to assist in retrieving Israeli civilians and bodies of fallen soldiers held in Gaza by the Islamic militant group Hamas. We have bodies of our slain soldiers that are kept [by Hamas] and even information about them is kept. He also told Maurer that any swap deal between Hamas and Israel should "guarantee the release of Palestinian prisoners".
