Trump donates to Red Cross, Salvation Army for Harvey relief

The Trumps selected 12 charities and relief organizations among which to divide the donation.

The American Red Cross and Salvation Army will each receive 300,000 United States dollars (£230,000) while Samaritan's Purse and Reachout America will collect 100,000 USA dollars (£77,000) each. The White House named the recipients Wednesday as part of an effort to encourage Americans to chip in with contributions, just hours after the House approved almost $8 billion for hurricane relief and reconstruction.

His donations to the Salvation Army and Red Cross come despite the fact that both organizations pulled planned galas from Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort last month. The moves buys nearly three months for Washington to try to solve myriad issues, including more funding for defense, immigration, health care, and a longer-term increase in the government's borrowing authority.

Huawei V9 Play running Android 7.0 Nougat Announced
The V9 Play is powered by the MediaTek MT6750 SoC with 1.5 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and Mali-T860MP2 GPU. The 16 GB on board flash storage (10 GB user accessible) can be expandable via micro SD card up to 128 GB.

According to the press release, the president and first lady chose these charities after seeing their work in the aftermath of the storm and based on personal recommendations from members of the White House Press Corps.

Other gifts included $100,000 to Reach out America and the same figure to Samaritan's Purse, a charity founded by evangelical preacher Franklin Graham. The White House repeatedly asked reporters for such recommendations. He has not said whether he will repeat the gesture for organizations providing relief for the new hurricane, Irma.
