Troy Gentry, of country duo Montgomery Gentry, killed in helicopter crash

Gentry was removed from the wreckage at the scene but was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. He was 78-years-old. The guitar and banjo playing Gentry died in a helicopter crash in Medford, New Jersey.

In the dispatch, emergency responders report the situation to each other. They then immediately tended to the victims. The accident happened near the Flying W airport in Medford, New Jersey, where the band was scheduled to perform this past Friday (Sept. 8). Troy's band mate Eddie Montgomery was not on board the copter. "Shortly after our arrival the helicopter did go down".

Three of their albums made it to platinum status and they toured consistently.

The helicopter crash that killed country singer Troy Gentry is now under NTSB investigation, and we're told a central question will be whether the pilot should have attempted a landing instead of hovering with mechanical problems and waiting for emergency assistance.
