Win for Burnley against Crystal Palace

Win for Burnley against Crystal Palace

Four successive defeats in the Premier League without scoring spelled a quick end to De Boer's tenure.

The former Inter Milan boss, who lasted only 85 days in Italy, now holds the record for the shortest spell as a permanent Premier League manager, beating Les Reed (Charlton) by four games.

Joey Barton criticises former England boss Roy Hodgson - who is expected to replace Frank de Boer at Crystal Palace - for "having no charisma". "I am sorry for him".

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho called De Boer's swift exit "incredible", adding: "That's the world where we are".

Do you think it is fair that the manager got sacked after just four games?

De Boer said in a post on social media: "Very disappointed about the decision but nevertheless I want to thank the players, staff and the fans for their support".

Wood struck after just three minutes, with the New Zealander's goal proving the highlight in a game devoid of quality or entertainment at Turf Moor.

Court orders INEC to resume Senator Melaye's recall
INEC needs only at least 50 per cent of the registered voters to begin a recall process. Attempts by Senator Dino Melaye to stop his recall process has met a brickwall.

Amid mounting speculation over De Boer's future on Sunday evening, Eagles chairman Steve Parish insisted everyone at the club must "stick together", although it seems he had a swift change of heart.

"Success in football is measured purely on results and we've had them here".

Palace lost their last clash against Burnley 1-0 which was enough to convince the club administration that the Dutchman was not the right man for the job. "I told him so (but) I don't feel sorry for anyone in the position - we all know the pitfalls". De Boer, though, agreed to a three-year contract upon signing.

But it seems De Boer's immediate fate will depend on whether Palace can identify the Dutchman's successor this week.

"You can not expect that suddenly we are going to win every game".

Did the 47-year-old deserve more time to implement his tactics?
