Nine people are dead, including the lone gunman, after a shooting at a Dallas Cowboys watch party in a Plano, Texas home on Sunday.

One of the two individuals harmed who at first survived the shooting later passed on at a territory healing facility.

The officer "showed great bravery", immediately engaging and fatally shooting the armed suspect who was inside the residence, Rushin said. AP is the largest and most trusted source of independent news and information.

The motive behind the shooting had not been established yet. He went into the house alone, settled on that choice that he couldn't sit tight for a reinforcement from another accomplice, as we were prepared, and go in and to stop the shooter. Monday would have been their wedding anniversary.

"The relationship between the victims and the shooter is not yet known, and all involved are believed to be adults", he added.

Spencer James Hight brought "multiple firearms of different types" to the house in the sprawling Plano suburb in Dallas, Texas, police said. A friend of Hight's husband, who asked to remain anonymous, said he saw Hight's husband at a nearby bar before the shooting and that he seemed upset. "It's just a bad event".

"The world is less without him", Griesemer said.

Stacey Glover told The Dallas Morning News ( ) that the party started early Sunday afternoon.

One witness said she heard between 30 and 40 shots fired around 8 p.m. local time. She opened her door and smelled gunpowder.

"She was a cook, and a quite fine one, and she loved hosting friends and families", Debbie Lane said. She heard police who arrived yell "hands up" before more shots rang out.

"This was her first opportunity to do it after the divorce and he (Spencer Hight) didn't take it well", Lane told the station.

He heard gunshots coming from inside the property and found some victims lying in the back yard.

The police officer has been placed on paid administrative leave as authorities investigate his opening fire on the gunman.

Officials in Plano have said it was the deadliest mass killing they have ever dealt with in the city.
