Downsizing trailer shows Alexander Payne's small world

Update: World-Herald photographer Chris Machian noticed that the opening moments of the "Downsizing" trailer were shot at none other than Omaha's Holland Center. The process is irreversible, but there's the added benefit that the shrunken get to live like suburban kings and queens. We've got the best houses, the best restaurants. As if it's not tempting enough, Paul and Audrey are told that their $52,000 saving translates to $12.5 million once they're tiny. Starring Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, and Christophn Waltz, DOWNSIZING is a social satire in which a man realizes he would have a better life if he were to shrink himself.

In the film by Alexander Payne, Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig play a couple who decide to abandon their normal lives and join the innovative and planet-saving "downsized" community of Leisureland, New Mexico that involves them literally shrinking their bodies.

Days later, when it screened at the Telluride Film Festival, "Downsizing" received a more divided response. "Humans are involved in politics, so we thought this story was an interesting prism through which to view our times". It is set to be released in theaters across the nation on December 22.
