Predicted Liverpool side to play Sevilla: Lovren and Gomez should start

Whether there's any truth to the current story, though-whether Barcelona actually made a request of Coutinho in the first place, and if they did whether it's a current, open request or something they suggested three weeks ago and have since dropped-is a question with no good answer, unfortunately. He came back from a long flight, after two substitute appearances and three weeks without training.

The best and worst of the 2017 Liverpool side were on show when they beat Hoffenheim in last month's play-off to reach the Champions League group stage.

Jurgen Klopp is keeping Liverpool fans guessing on whether Philippe Coutinho will return to action against Sevilla on Wednesday, although he insists the Brazilian is "fit" and "healthy".

The Argentinian, though, is wary: "Liverpool are a great team and Saturday's defeat doesn't take anything away from them". And the early signs have been positive, with a 3-0 win over Eibar on Saturday their strongest display of the season.

Sevilla will evoke memories of arguably the most disappointing night of Klopp's reign, when they lost the 2016 Europa League final to their Spanish opponents.

However, the Premier League side held firm and rebuffed all offers for their playmaker.

Another man certain to start is Sadio Mane.

Liverpool's press is effective in terms of limiting shooting opportunities, but when teams are able to break through it, the chances they create are usually high-quality ones.

"We have to look forward to the next game, forget that result and play like before", Salah added.

If Coutinho starts, though, it won't matter. Ever Banega is set to feature having served a suspension in La Liga. "I don't know - it's nothing I can think about too much". Pace in behind causes them particular problems, and Sevilla have a number of rapid forwards capable of exploiting that weakness.

If Liverpool find themselves needing a goal, these two would be their best options to make an impact.
