Ferguson leads Memphis to 48-45 upset of No. 25 UCLA

Memphis quickly jumped back ahead on a four-play, 81-yard touchdown drive, though, and Rosen tossed an interception on the Bruins' next possession. The nationally televised game showcased a Tigers program that is 2-0 and has beaten a ranked team in each of the last three seasons. The Memphis player who didn't get much attention last weekend was senior quarterback Riley Ferguson, who passed for 3,698 yards and a school-record 32 touchdowns last campaign but was just 10-of-25 for 95 yards and an interception in the season opener on August 31. He did move his legs some after he had been on the field for a while, which was a good sign.

The Tigers defeated the number 25 team in the country UCLA by a score of 48-45. Memphis quarterback Riley Ferguson was 23 for 38 passing with 398 yards and six touchdowns.

UCLA jumped out to a 17-7 advantage in the first half, but coughed up the lead before halftime and trailed all the way into the early fourth quarter when Rosen connected on his third touchdown of the second half to take a 45-41 lead.

The score gave Memphis at ten-point lead.

Texas A&M's win probability was as high as 99.5% with 4:21 left in the game against UCLA. He threw for 463 yards and four touchdowns, which sounds like the leader of the winning team, right?

In what has been a seesaw battle, the Bruins and the Tigers continue to trade blows as the game enters the fourth quarter.

Memphis faked a field goal late in the fourth quarter, a move that almost backfired in a disastrous way. Memphis officials said he was moving.

In an offensive-oriented game, it was a defensive play by Memphis defensive back Jacobi Francis that secured the victory.

UCLA has been vulnerable against the run thus far this season and on Saturday will need to find a way to slow host Memphis, which displayed a dominant rushing attack in its season-opening win. The American Athletic Conference announced Thursday that the Tigers-Knights game is rescheduled for September 30.
