Khamenei says Tehran won't bow to USA 'bullying' on nuclear deal

The Trump administration previously stated that while Iran has met the requirements of the nuclear deal, it is breaching its spirit by supporting global terrorism and destabilizing the Middle East.

The supreme leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned the United States that it should avoid any wrong moves on the country's nuclear deal with world powers. And you will see what we will be doing in October.

"The Iranian nation is standing firm and any wrong move by the domineering regime regarding the [nuclear accord] will face the reaction of the Islamic Republic", Khamenei said in an address to police officers.

President Hassan Rouhani left on Sunday for the UN General Assembly in NY, where he is set to hold crucial talks on the 2015 nuclear deal, which eased global sanctions in exchange for curbs to Iran's atomic program.

During his trip, Rouhani will deliver a speech at the UN General Assembly and will urge the United States to abide by its commitments to the nuclear deal reached in 2015.

Addressing a meeting on Sunday, Larijani lambasted Congress for what he said was their stand against the deal and repeated violations of it, asking the USA to stop its empty rhetoric regarding "the spirit of the agreement".

Iran denies its missile development breaches the resolution, saying its missiles are not created to carry nuclear weapons.

He said that Iran has been committed to its obligations and this has been confirmed repeatedly by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations nuclear watchdog.

Imam Khamenei criticized USA officials, stating: Corrupt, lying and deceitful U.S. officials blatantly and falsely accuse Iran of lying.

"Iran also expects the European Union to send this strong message to the US (administration)", Rouhani said during a meeting with the visiting president of the Chamber of Representatives of Belgium, Siegfried Baracke. He used an analogy of a dinner party on Sunday to describe how countries are benefiting from the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA.
