Everton v Sunderland preview: Both sides set to make changes

Everton was trailing 0-1 to Antonio Valencia's early stunner but playing well and threatening an equalizer.

Everton sold Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United and whilst they bought a lot of players, might arguably be weaker than they were last season.

To rub salt into the wounds, Romelu Lukaku, who joined United from Everton for 75 million pounds (US$101.85 million) in July, made it 3-0, appearing to enjoy kicking his old side when it was down. They have lost their last four matches without scoring to slide into the bottom three.

And Sunderland manager Simon Grayson believes he is under just as much pressure as Koeman this season - despite spending £140m less in the transfer market.

Everton face Sunderland in the English League Cup on Wednesday before taking on Bournemouth in the Premier League at the weekend.

Timmons suspended 'indefinitely' by Dolphins
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday on Up to the Minute that Timmons did provide the team a reason for not showing up. He spent his first 10 National Football League seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers , recording 677 tackles and 35.5 sacks.

Ronald Koeman was installed as the new 2/1 favourite for the sack before Everton's match against Man Utd, and now after a 4-0 drubbing at Old Trafford it's not looking good for the under-fire Dutchman, who could be in danger of becoming the second top-flight managerial casualty of the season.

But, although the aim of majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri is for Koeman to build a team capable of challenging the top six in the Premier League, he is also understanding of the fact this was a summer of change for the club.

"Even though we conceded four goals, I think we were more solid as a team".

Since returning to Everton, the former England captain has started all 10 of their competitive games and appeared in 868 of a possible 900 minutes of action.
