Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck looking at a 3-week injury layoff

Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck looking at a 3-week injury layoff

It must be an extremely frustrating for the Arsenal and England worldwide forward Danny Welbeck to have picked up an injury that looks set to keep him out of action for about a month, because Wellbz was enjoying a good run in the starting line-up and was in good form with goals for club and country flowing.

Wenger confirmed after the match that he did not know the severity of the issue but did not believe it to be particularly bad.

Boss Arsene Wenger said the England forward is unlikely to return before next month's worldwide break.

Further to his absence from club football, the 26-year-old will likely miss England's World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Lithuania.

That means Welbeck will miss tomorrow night's third round League Cup clash at home against Doncaster, Premier League fixtures at the Emirates against West Bromwich Albion (Monday night) and Brighton & Hove Albion (Oct 1), and their UEFA Europa League group stage away tie at BATE Borisov.

He denied the claims, and was cleared by the FA and an independent investigation led by barrister Katharine Newton QC. Glenn and fellow under-fire chairman Greg Clarke will have to answer questions at a parliamentary inquiry next month.

One supporter of the theory that Ozil is very much expendable for the Gunners is former English worldwide and Chelsea manager Ray Wilkins, who has today suggested that Arsene Wenger should only utilise his gifted German star during matches at the Emirates stadium.

"You can see he is coming back to shape now". "He has a little inflammation of his knee".

Wenger revealed English duo Calum Chambers and Jack Wilshere are in line to play. Santi Cazorla remains Arsenal's only long-term absentee and is not expected to return until after Christmas.

"The squad will be a mix, but it will be a similar team to the one that played against Cologne".

The forward has started the season brightly, scoring three goals in five Premier League games. The likes of Reiss Nelson, Jeff Reine Adelaide, Chuba Akpom and Matt Macey will also hope to be involved.
