Derrius Guice will not play Saturday against Syracuse

On Monday, LSU Head Coach and former Syracuse defensive line coach Ed Orgeron hinted at the fact that star running back Derrius Guice may not be available to play against Syracuse this weekend.

According to reporters, Guice wasn't present at Wednesday's practice, either.

Guice suffered an injury at Mississippi State, and missed practice the last three days. Now they'll be without star running back Derrius Guice in Week 4.

"The 5'11", 212-pound back from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is undoubtedly LSU's biggest offensive weapon, and losing him for any period of time would be a huge hit to the team's hunt for an SEC title. He now rushed for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns.

2 magnitude natural disaster strikes off Japan coast near nuclear plant
The Guardian reported in February that one damaged reactor was at its highest radiation level since the meltdown. The Japanese quake struck along a major fault line under the Pacific Ocean about 200 miles east of Fukushima.

With Fournette in the National Football League and playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars this season, the Tigers' backfield depth isn't as impressive as it typically is. In that game, Guice led the Tigers in rushing with 76 yards on 15 carries, but was held out of the end zone - the first time in his college career that he had more than 10 carries in a game without scoring a touchdown.

Guice is the main piece to the Tigers offense, due to their limitations in the passing game many expect the junior to be in the running for the Heisman at the end of the year.

Darrel Williams is likely to start Saturday's game for 25th-ranked LSU (2-1).
