IPhone OS makes it harder to switch off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

But security researchers warn that users might not realize this and, as a effect, could leave Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on without noticing.

Users of Apple's redesigned control centre, the quick screen for changing settings and controls found by swiping up from the bottom of the screen, have found the toggles for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi don't actually deactivate them.

You can still turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in iOS 11's Control Center, but you just can't turn them fully off from there.

Previously, toggling both connectivity options off in Control Center did what was expected.

I think the first half we gave no chances to the opponents, we went strong, gave a very good dynamic and arrived 3-0 at half-time. After that, it was all Anthony Martial who danced rings around the Burton defence and set up Lingard for the 3rd goal.

To completely disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in iOS 11, users will need to tap through to the Settings page and disable them from there. In iOS 11, it only partially disables Bluetooth, disconnecting a device from accessories it's connected to, but leaving it available for features like Handoff, Instant Hotspot, AirDrop, AirPlay, Apple Pencil, and Location Services.

iOS 11's most underrated security feature?

She proceeded to tell Motherboard that turning off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not used is a "good practice" and secures the users from potential cyber-attacks. As a result, they could become at risk of being hacked or get sent unwanted messages as the recent Bluetooth vulnerability that affects over 5 billion devices has shown. She also said that many security researchers stated that there are a lot of bugs in the Bluetooth implementation on different operating systems.

To do that, you have to go to settings and enter each menu separately to toggle the switch off. Fortunately, there is still a way to turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth altogether. One aspect of it that may have, at least at first, appeared like a big plus is now proving to be a bit of a security and usability problem: the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi controls.
