Stephen Colbert blasts Trump's Puerto Rico visit in scathing play-by-play

"You don't go to another place when people are in peril and are suffering and you just kind of hover around in a helicopter without having some kind words to say".

Trump visited the island earlier in the day, and mentioned the fiscal impact of rebuilding.

On his first visit to survey damage from Hurricane Maria, Mr Trump threw at least five packs of kitchen roll into a crowd gathered at Calvary Chapel, Guaynabo.

Mexico said Wednesday it will send humanitarian aid to Puerto Rico to help the island recover from Hurricane Maria, a disaster that US President Donald Trump has been accused of minimizing.

The former Celebrity Apprentice host and the mayor have been feuding since last week when she criticized the Trump administration's response to Hurricane Maria's devastation in Puerto Rico.

The official death toll from Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico has increased to 34 from 16, the USA territory's governor has said. We will help Puerto Rico rebuild from the storm.

Trump also handed out supplies, in the Trumpiest way possible, lobbing paper towels and other goods at locals in a church.

Picking & Grinning: UFC 216 'Ferguson vs. Lee'
Working the midsection with his punches, Lee looked to stack Ferguson but was shoved away as Ferguson popped back to his feet. With one round under their belt, Ferguson looked to open up strong with an overhand right followed by a right high kick.

The 3.4 million residents have been short on food and water since the hurricane struck September 20, but Cruz said the influx of private donations and FEMA supplies are now making a big difference.

President Trump tweeted in response: "The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump". "We are not going to deal with the fundamental difficulties Puerto Rico had before the storm".

Half of the 3.4million US citizens on the island have access to water service, and almost 40 percent have cell phone service, although many Puerto Ricans are still struggling to find basics like food and water.

"Trump to Puerto Rico leaders: "You've really thrown our budget out of whack" then brags only 16 died so far".

"We need to do a lot more in order for us to get out of the emergency", Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rossello said in San Juan.

Trump's paper tossing deed has not gone well with Carmen Yulin Cruz, the San Juan Mayor. As many as 1,800 people died in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina breached levees protecting New Orleans.

Trump, who has feuded with the mayor of Puerto Rico's capital over the pace of the relief effort, claimed before leaving that even his critics were acknowledging "what a great job we have done".
