Encounter breaks out between militants, security forces in Baramulla

Baramulla (Jammu and Kashmir): A terrorist was killed by security forces during an encounter in the Ladoora district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police sources said the security forces surrounded Ladoora village after receiving information about his likely presence in the area. Khalid was involved in many attacks on security camps in North Kashmir as well as targeting policemen in particular. Incensed over what Khalid did to her, she pledged to make him pay.

He said the militant fired upon the naka party when signalled to stop.

A Pakistani national, Khalid had been operating in the area for last two-three years and was carrying out tasks like recruiting for their terror outfit etc.

According to reports, Khalid's girlfriend helped the security forces nab the dreaded terrorist. These search operations resulted in a gun battle when the militants started to fire at the search operation officials. Khalid was on the list of most-wanted names in hit-list of police. He is said to be behind the recent suicide attacks in the state.

Pakistani terrorist had infiltrated in to the Kashmir Valley in year 2009 via Kupwara forests, and was working silently.

The police also suspect Umer Khalid to be a part of the recent attacks on the BSF battalion headquarters near Srinagar airport and the District Police Lines at Pulwama that were carried out by the Jaish e Muhammad (JeM) terrorists, PTI reported. "He was also involved in the killing of one Suhail Ahmad Dar, a resident of Kachloo Khahipora Handwara in Watergam Orchards", he said Khalid was involved in the killing of Sarpanch Ghulam Nabi Khawaja, resident of Kralgund and attack on one civilian namely Naz Khan in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kralgund Handwara.
