Destiny 2 Weekly Reset - Oct. 10 2017

The Faction Rallies recently held by the Tower residents of "Destiny 2" has just come to a conclusion, but Bungie looks to keep their momentum going with another event. The Iron Banner event in Destiny 2 does away with Power level bonuses for players of a higher level, creating what should be an even playing field where players that haven't yet got items like the MIDA Multi-Tool can win against those who have got access to higher level weapons and armor.

The long-awaited Iron Banner is finally arriving in Destiny 2 today and with it comes a new multiplayer map for Guardians to fight it out on.

Shores of Time was a long-time favorite of Destiny gamers, as it was one of the original maps first offered in the game's very first beta test. Although you still have new activities to go for with a refreshed rewards slate, a lot of what you actually do is new.

If Bungie is treating this Destiny 2 activity the same way they did in the first game, then you can expect this to be a monthly event. At this point, you'll be free to enter the Iron Banner through the Crucible Quickplay menu, with full matchmaking enabled. And of course, there is armor for each class up for grabs. This new map looks like it's in the Destiny 2 location of Nessus. There will also be daily and season-length milestones.

When Does the Destiny 2 Iron Banner Event Begin?

Thankfully though, the lacklustre Iron Banner will still go live today.

Iron Banner matches will be 4v4 affairs, just like other Crucible modes, and features the Control game mode. As we mentioned previously, it'll take you right around 20 Iron Banner Tokens in order to earn a single Iron Banner Engram from Lord Saladin.
