Huawei kicks off Mate 9 Oreo beta program

The Huawei Mate 10 is expected to retain the same 16:9 ratio as its immediate predecessor.

Furthermore, only Huawei Mate 9 with the MHA-L29C432B194 firmware will be able to participate in this program. Well, It is yet to make its way to most of devices in a stable form. Do note that this is not the final update and will not have support for full features.

The beta update is now available for units running firmware version MHA-L29C432B194.

Chinese company, Huawei, starts a beta program to test the Android Oreo for its 2016 release, the Mate 9.

Wood Group completes on AMEC acquisition
The company is selling AFW UK to address competition concerns raised in connection with the transaction between AFW and John Wood Group.

Those interested in this beta program will have to download and install the Beta Friendly User Test (FUT) app. After installing the update, you have to sign in with your Huawei ID.

The device was launched previous year and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat now, it looks like Huawei is all ready to roll out Oreo for it as they have already started the Beta program for Mate 9 handset.

Since the program will end on 3 November, it is likely that the update will be rolled out just before or by the end date. While all rumors so far had been suggesting that the Mate 10 could feature a 5.9-inch or 6.1-inch sized display, the latest leak suggests the phablet will instead sport a 6.2-inch display with 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolution. The device comes with 64 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB irrespective of whether it is a Dual SIM device or not. The back side includes the LEICA-branded dual-camera setup, the dual LED flash and the fingerprint sensor. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with f/1.9 aperture and 1080p video recording capabilities.
