Disney puts off Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale

Walt Disney Animation's upcoming Jack and the Beanstalk-inspired film very big, which was featured at their D23 Expo in 2015, is no longer in development. The story would have been set in Spain during the age of exploration (so somewhere roughly between the 15th and 17th centuries), this new take on Jack And The Beanstalk finds adventure-seeker Jack heading into the clouds in what starts as a fairly traditional take on the fairy tale. Big had Frozen's songwriters on board to pen original tunes for the movie, while Inside Out co-writer Meg LeFauve and Tangled director Nathan Greno were co-directing it. The film had originally been given a 2018 release date, before recently being shunted back to 2020.

Disney's upcoming animated feature enormous has been cancelled. "Frozen" songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez were on board to write the music for the film with husband-wife singing one of the songs at the event.
