'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Trailer Lands With Action & Suspense

The trailer ends with Rey pleading, "I need someone to show me my place in all this" as we see Kylo Ren extend his hand. You want Snoke? We got your Snoke right here.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman.

The 154-second trailer gave fans a glimpse of what might be in store in the highly-anticipated instalment, which picks up from where The Force Awakens, released in December 2015, ended.

Even Kylo Ren makes an appearance in this trailer to keep us curious about what the dark side might be up to this time around.

However it should be noted that if you're not trying to spoil anything for yourself, the movie's director says you should probably avoid watching the trailer altogether & "come in clean". I didn't fear it enough then.

As well as BB-8 it looks like we have a whole host of cute creatures who have made it into the Star Wars Universe. We got Finn, we got Phasma, and all your old favorites! There is hesitation on Ben's face as he fights the forces led by Leia (Carrie Fisher).

The film is slated for a December 15 release worldwide. Though she was expected to appear in Episode IX, Lucasfilm said there are no plans to digitally recreate Fisher in any upcoming Star Wars projects.

Oh, and if you'd like to brighten your day, watch this video of Oscar Isaac singing and mentally replace the word "Wars" with "Porgs". It's set for release in China on January 5, 2018.
