Zerorez joins in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

It's back and better than ever - Direct Wire & Cable has announced another year of supporting breast cancer research and reaching new levels of fundraising.

Some of the region's restaurants have gone pink, donating a portion of proceeds to help the American Cancer Society beat breast cancer from October 6 through October 15.

Last year, an estimated 70,000 walkers from across Nassau and Suffolk County raised over $3 million dollars. Today, walks are held more than 250 communities nationwide. No matter what, how you prepare just make sure you wear as much pink as you can and join the American Cancer Society in their fight against this unpredictable disease. The events fund breast cancer research and free programs and services for patients and their families.

Although it has declined since the turn of the century, breast cancer affected 1 in every 8 American woman - according to the National Breast Cancer Foun=dation. "At the event, communities embrace a bittersweet mix of objective - celebrating survivorship and paying meaningful tributes to loved ones lost".
